KENNEDY — A Connecticut man, driving 89 mph on Interstate 86, was charged Saturday with having a firearm and marijuana.
State Police at Jamestown arrested Don Harris, 23, of New Haven, for criminal possession of a firearm and fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana.
While speaking with Harris, the Troopers smelled marijuana inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of Harris and the vehicle revealed a loaded 9mm Smith & Wesson handgun, for which Harris did not have a New York state permit, and bags containing more than two ounces of marijuana.
Harris was placed under arrest, processed at Jamestown barracks and transported to the Chautauqua County Jail, pending arraignment.
