The Fremont County Sheriff’s Office arrested two people after they allegedly drove from a traffic stop on Friday. Officials say the pursuit started on Highway 2 near the Missouri River.Deputies said they suspected drug trafficking during the initial traffic stop and requested a K9 deputy. The sheriff’s office said 22-year-old Cardell Crawford was behind the wheel when the car sped off. Officials told KETV NewsWatch 7 Crawford’s vehicle reached 130 mph when he reached the Missouri border. State patrol deputies said they deployed spike strips on I-19 near St. Joseph, Missouri, which ended the 85-mile long pursuit.Officials said a K9 deputy found 110 pounds of marijuana in the vehicle. Deputies arrested Crawford on suspicion for felony eluding and multiple drug charges.Deputies arrested 23-year-old Brianca Williams, who was a passenger in the vehicle, on suspicion of drug charges.Five law enforcement agencies assisted Fremont County in making the arrests, including Holt County, Andrew County, Buchanan County, Mills County and the Missouri State Patrol.
