Minnesota Timberwovles guard Malik Beasley is in police custody after being arrested on marijuana and stolen property charges on Saturday night.
According to The Athletic’s Jon Krawczynski, Beasley was arrested at his home in Plymouth. The report also states that the 23-year-old has had trespassing complaints on Beasley’s home in the past.
“We are aware of the situation involving Malik Beasley and are in the process of gathering information at this time,” the Timberwolves said in a statement issued Sunday morning.
Beasley is a pending restricted free agent for the Timberwolves and was acquired in a four-team deal at last February’s trade deadline. In 14 games for the Wolves, Beasley thrived averaging 20.7 points, 5.1 rebounds and shooting 42.6 percent from 3-point range.
The Timberwolves are currently holding a three-week voluntary camp in Minneapolis as one of the teams that was not invited to Orlando to finish. the 2019-20 season.
