A Burlington man was arrested Wednesday night after deputies executed a search warrant at his home and found more than 10 pounds of drugs, cash and weapons.
James Thompson Jr., 48, of 413 Peele Street Burlington, was charged with felony selling or delivering marijuana, two counts of felony possession with intent to sell or distribute marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, felony maintaining a dwelling for the keeping or selling of a controlled substance, two counts of felony possession of a firearm by a felon and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office and North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement agents executed the search warrant at Thompson’s home around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, after “an intense investigation involving various violations of the N.C. Controlled Substances Act.”
Investigators seized 6.25 pounds of marijuana, 4.28 pounds of THC infused edibles, 4.85 ounces of THC oil, $2,864 in cash, an AR-15 rifle and a SCCY .380 handgun.
Thompson was transported to the Alamance County Jail where he is being held under a $50,000 bond.
