The city of Sturgis will begin accepting applications for adult-use marijuana retailers in the Business Highway 1 zoning district on Sept. 1.

Deadline for accepting applications is 4 p.m. Nov. 23, at which time all application documents and the application review fee must be received by the community development department.

According to city ordinance section 38.93, when a limited number of licenses are available, a window for accepting applications must be provided. After the window has closed, applications will be ranked and the top-ranking applicants will begin the application process for the available licenses.
