CLEWISTON, Fla. – A Hendry County man was arrested Thursday for running a marijuana growing operation out of a home in the Montura Ranch Estates.
Deynier Salazar Prieto, 37, was arrested after deputies seized several live marijuana plants, over 20 pounds of pre-packaged marijuana, two firearms, and over $1700 from his home on Lindero Street in Clewiston, according to the Hendry County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies discovered a sophisticated indoor grow house on Prieto’s property that was in a semi-trailer powered by stolen electricity. The power company reported $20,000 worth of stolen electricity connected to the incident.
Prieto was charged with cultivation of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell, theft of utilities to manufacture a controlled substance, possession and use of drug equipment and operating a drug house.
He was released on a $20,000 bond Friday.
