One man was arrested and quantity of marijuana and cash, found and seized by officers during an exercise was conducted in the Central Division today. 

The exercise was coordinated by Snr Supt Simon, ASP Pierre, Insp Ragoo, Sgt Stewart and included members of the Central Division Task Force and Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Operations Unit, where several search warrants were executed. 

Officers went to home on Francis St, Couva, and searched the premises where they found a black plastic bag containing 103 grams of marijuana and $28,805 TT currency and $10US currency was found in a bedroom.  

The cash was seized under the Proceeds of Crime Act by Sgt Stewart. 

PC Ramoutar formally charged the suspect for Possession of Marijuana and officers of the Financial Investigations Branch are continuing enquiries.
