Police are once again reminding citizens that they are only legally allowed to carry up to 30 grammes of marijuana on their person, and cultivate up to four marijuana plants. 

This latest reminder comes after officers arrested a 45-year-old man on the Brian Lara Promenade in Port of Spain, with 45g of the drug in his possession. 

The suspect was held during a routine operation by officers of the Port of Spain Task Force at about 3pm on Wednesday. 

Due to the find, the officers detained the suspect, and a search of his home in Morvant was conducted. 
The officers then found six marijuana plants. 

As a result of the find, the suspect was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
