A Mercedes driver has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving after being stopped by police on the M61.
Traffic officers said they first spotted the car driving in Bolton. They eventually stopped it at junction 8 of the motorway near Chorley.
Police found a small amount of cannabis in the car before testing the driver at roadside.
After testing positive for cannabis, the driver was arrested and taken to Wigan Police Station.
Greater Manchester Police’s (GMP) traffic division shared news of the arrest on their social media channels.
A spokesman wrote: “Vehicle sighted by XT14 in Bolton.
“With the assistance of ME14 and XT54 the vehicle was stopped j8 M61.
“Small quantity of cannabis located and the driver failed a drug test at the roadside.
“Arrested on suspicion of drug driving and currently at Wigan custody.”
