The country will vote on whether or not to legalise cannabis at the 2020 election. Whilst more details are to be worked through, the government’s told the Electoral Commission the decision will be binding. There may also be a vote on David Seymour’s assisted dying bill and MMP thresholds. National leader Simon Bridges disagrees with the timing of the referendum saying it’ll be a distraction for voters.
