The driver of a car clocked by police at a high rate of speed on the west coast Thursday had more going on than being in a rush.

Officers with Fish and Wildlife Enforcement spotted the vehicle mid-afternoon on the TCH going from Pasadena towards Deer Lake. RCMP intercepted it near St. Judes.

Police saw open alcohol, cannabis products and paraphernalia in the vehicle but an investigation led to the seizure of nearly $10,000 cash that was concealed on the driver.

The 23-year-old man was ticketed for the cannabis and liquor, but they are still investigating.
