WORCESTER — Resinate Inc. opened Sunday for adult-use marijuana sales and plans to hold a grand opening celebration on Friday.

The grand opening at the Millbury Street shop will begin at 10 a.m. Friday and continue through the weekend, the company announced.

Resinate Inc. — a locally owned and operated, vertically integrated cannabis company — launched medical marijuana sales in March, as the COVID-19 pandemic began.

“We are proud of our progress, but more so of the outstanding team we’ve assembled at Resinate. We opened during the pandemic. Not only we were successful in meeting demand, but we’ve maintained the health and safety of our staff and patients. As we continue to adhere to the reopening plans set forth by Governor Baker, we are excited to offer the same level of safety to our adult use customers,” CEO Peter DeCaro said in a statement.

Later this year, Resinate plans to open two additional adult-use licensed stores in Northampton and Grafton.

The shop is situated at 1191 Millbury St., the former Reliable Cash Register building.
