Over 120 marijuana trees were found this morning during a police exercise in Arima. The discovery was made between 4 am and 8 am today during a police operation by officers of the Northern Division Task Force, under the supervisions of Insp Pitt and Sgt Mascall.
The officers received intelligence which led them to a forested area off La Retreat Road, Arima, where they found a field containing the marijuana trees. The drugs were catalogued and destroyed.
This operation also saw the inclusion of Cpl Sookram and Cpl Gentle, together with PC Caraballo, WPC Caruth and others.
Three persons from the La Retreat Road community were detained on pending inquiries related to a report of sacrilege that occurred recently where several items were stolen from a church.
