This is the moment bags of cannabis were destroyed in an incinerator after a huge cannabis farm was found in Hyde.
Police were alerted to a disturbance at the Newton Business Park, in Talbot Road, on Thursday, April 30.
When they arrived officers discovered an ‘industrial scale’ cannabis farm inside one of the units on the business park.
Officers seized a quantity of cannabis and then dismantled the cannabis farm the following day.
Due to coronavirus restrictions, Tameside Council also helped with disposing the equipment in the unit.
Around 280 to 300 plants were found.
No arrests have been made and Greater Manchester Police continue to investigate.
A spokesman for GMP said: “A quantity of cannabis was seized, with the majority later being destroyed.
“The site was secured overnight and the Neighbourhood Policing Team, along with the Schools Based Officers based at Hyde Police Station dismantled the cannabis farm the following day.
“Due to the current situation with COVID-19 and the restrictions in place Tameside Metropolitan Borough Council assisted Greater Manchester Police in the safe disposal of the equipment removed from the Unit.
“No arrests were made on the day and the investigation is in its early stages, with officers based at Hyde Police Station currently investigating the incident and pursuing a number of lines of enquiry to trace the people responsible.”
