The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said deputies have arrested a woman for allegedly operating an illegal marijuana cultivation site in Lakeland Village.

Deputies have been investigating information regarding a possible illegal grow site in Lakeland Village for the past month, according to sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Reese, and on June 24, the Sheriff’s Department served a search warrant at a home in the 30000 block of Skylark Drive.

According to Reese, deputies found the home had been converted into an indoor/outdoor cultivation site, and discovered around 1,200 marijuana plants “in various stages of growth,” along with 30 pounds of processed marijuana plants and an imitation firearm.

The property owner, identified as 72-year-old Angela Bright, was arrested on suspicion of illegal marijuana cultivation and taken to the Cois M. Byrd Detention Center in French Valley. She remained held there in lieu of $10,000 bail on Friday.

Riverside County code enforcement was also notified and will investigate the property at a later time, according to Olguin.
