A 22-year-old man out of Ames, Iowa is facing trial after he was allegedly caught with 50-plus pounds of marijuana and many other substances. Clayton John Fitzgerald Sullivan was pulled over in Floyd County – 2 miles west of Floyd on February 16th. The Iowa State Patrol says Sullivan was speeding and that he possessed 50 to 60 pounds of marijuana. 

It was also found that he had 1.5 to 2 ounces of methamphetamine, 2 guns, and 200 prescription pills.

Sullivan has been charged with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, two counts of failure to use a drug tax stamp, five counts of unlawful possession of prescription drugs, carrying weapons, possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine – and he pleaded not guilty to all the charges.

His trial is set to begin on August 4th in the Floyd County District Court.
