Arkansas Marijuana Card, a network of clinics specializing in providing evaluations and recommendations to patients seeking treatment with medical marijuana, announced recently they will begin conducting patient evaluations through telemedicine.
The announcement comes just days after the Arkansas Department of Health authorized emergency measures expanding the allowable uses of telemedicine services in an effort to stem the spread of COVID-19.
The company stated that telemedicine appointments will begin taking place the week of April 19. The use of telemedicine will allow patients to meet with certified physicians and receive their medical marijuana recommendation from the comfort and safety of their own home. The evaluation process is straightforward, and patients will be able to access the HIPAA compliant video-conferencing platform on any computer or smartphone.
“These are challenging and uncertain times for everyone, but we’re encouraged by the fact that we will be able to continue servicing our patients through telemedicine,” Connor Shore, president at Arkansas Marijuana Card, said in a news release. “The health and wellness of our patients and employees is our top priority, and thanks to the swift action of the Arkansas Department of Health, our patients won’t have any disruption to their ongoing care and access to medical marijuana products.”
