LOMPOC, Calif. – Since opening on April 20, Santa Barbara County’s first delivery-only cannabis business is booming in popularity.

InDaCut aims to provide legal, quality and lab-tested products to clients.

After months of preparation, 22-year-old Drayten Howell recently acquired his state license to operate the company.

This allows the service to deliver cannabis products from its headquarters on Constellation Road in Lompoc.

“This is definitely a market that’s going to open up and it’s something that I’m passionate about,” Howell said. “I’ve always wanted to own a business.”

His drivers are taking extra precautions to help safely complete orders with cash transactions.

“Gloves, masks and keeping a proper space during the transaction,” Howell said.

“We have our iPads, we have our clipboards,” InDaCut delivery driver Gavin Caci said. “We don’t actually handle anything with our hands other than the money itself.”

While many people remain quarantined at home throughout California’s statewide shutdown, the demand for cannabis has skyrocketed.

Since its opening 18 days ago, InDaCut has fulfilled over 700 orders.

“Right now, we’re at 40 to 50 deliveries per day,” Howell said.

“The demand during this time is probably a huge increase based on the fact that it’s a stressful situation we’re in,” Caci said.

Officially designated an essential business, InDaCut is happy to serve its customers during this difficult time.

“To go to these customers’ houses and bring smiles to their faces and bring some joy, that means a lot to us,” Howell concluded.
