What benefits do you see for patients throughout Florida within this space?

The benefits for patients of medical cannabis in Florida are countless. Medical cannabis offers a plant-based alternative to pharmaceuticals, provides symptomatic relief for a wide variety of illnesses, and enhances the quality of life for many Floridians. For most Florida patients, it’s easily accessible and through the competitive nature of the market is becoming more affordable.

What motivates you to be a part of the cannabis industry?

I am motivated by the passionate people I work with at VidaCann, by the opportunities an industry in its infancy stage offers, and most of all by the success stories of our customers. Connecting with patients who have overcome debilitating diseases or just day to day struggles is the real reward when working in the cannabis industry.

What field are you in within the cannabis space?

I am in the cannabis retail space with VidaCann. I have been managing the St. Petersburg location for approximately two years and will be managing the Largo location when it opens in early 2021.

How can people in Florida benefit from the company you represent?

At VidaCann, it’s clear from the moment you walk through the door that the patients of Florida are our number one priority. We are a Florida owned and operated company that provides premium organically grown cannabis. Our products are manufactured in a cGMP certified lab and are available in 14 communities. We have plans to open 21 more locations across the state to broadly serve the patients of Florida. We have two amazing partnerships that we are proud to bring to the state of Florida. VidaCann is the exclusive provider of the Colorado-based company the Stanley Brothers famously known for their high CBD strain Charlotte’s Web, and Tikun Olam, an international company known for their extensive research on the medicinal effects of their six land-raised premium strains.

How did you get started within the cannabis industry?

My career has always been centered around serving people. I originally started with restaurant management, which then carried into a role within Human Resources. That eventually led to project management for a non-profit focused on enhancing the landscape for teachers in Texas. Upon my return to Florida, I was presented with the opportunity to join the cannabis industry and I couldn’t have imagined a better fit for furthering my service-driven career. The work ethic I bring from my hospitality experience, combined with the business acumen I gained from the years spent in Human Resources, added with the compassion and empathy learned through working in a non-profit perfectly prepared me to step into the cannabis industry. For those that are interested in joining the industry, know that the path isn’t always a straight line, it’s the twists and turns that prepare you for this budding community.

Are you personally a MJ card holder?

I have been a patient in Florida for two years now. Becoming a patient has not only allowed me to address some of my own medical needs but it has also allowed for me to connect and relate to those that I serve. I can speak to the products that I sell through personal experience and empathize with the problems our customers face.

Do you see Florida moving forward with recreational Marijuana/cannabis and how will that affect your business?

Eventually I see Florida moving forward with recreational cannabis. I see it as an opportunity to open the market to those who can’t afford the added costs of medical care, create more job opportunities for Floridians, increase economic growth through cannabis tourism, and enhance our schools, roads, and communities through taxation.
