Starting this summer, Triton College is offering a new short-term certificate program designed to provide students with training to pursue a career in the cannabis industry, urban food products and ornamental, tropical and herbaceous plant production. The 16-credit hour Greenhouse Grow Operations certificate is designed to help individuals make better crop decisions by learning the underlying horticultural science of plant growth.  Triton College is committed to providing educational programs to provide skills to enter in-demand career paths. After five courses students will be prepared to join a plant production team. The college is home to a modern greenhouse renovated in 2016. The greenhouse, along with the adjoining botanical garden, is used as a resource for students in the Horticulture, Sustainable Agriculture and Hospitality Industry Administration programs.  To get more information on the Greenhouse Grow Operations certificate program visit, https://www.triton.edu/news/new-horticulture-certificate-prepares-students-for-sustainable-greenhouse-production-careers/.
