LAKE ELSINORE (CNS) – An illegal marijuana grow containing roughly 1,000 plants cultivated inside a Lake Elsinore home was confiscated during a Riverside County sheriff’s operation, authorities said today.

Deputies raided the property in the 4000 block of Pascali Lane, near Bankhall Street, about 6 p.m. Thursday, according to Sgt. Jeff Reese.

An investigation was initiated in recent weeks after deputies received complaints about possible illicit activity at the property, Reese said.

Drug raids have been conducted in the Lake Elsinore area since early April, resulting in numerous illegal grows being dismantled.

During the search warrant service at the property, deputies seized cannabis plants in various stages of growth valued at $1 million, Reese said.

“City Code Enforcement officers issued a cease-and-desist order due to unauthorized construction to the residence, along with the illegal cultivation,” he said.

No suspects have been identified in connection with the grow.

Neither the city nor county has authorized indoor or outdoor commercial marijuana cultivation of any kind.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information was asked to contact the sheriff’s Lake Elsinore station at 951-245-3300.
