La Crosse might be ready to go easy on marijuana use.
A city council committee has approved an amendment to raise the legal limit of marijuana possession to 25 grams, compared to the current 7 grams.
Council member Roger Christians has personal reasons for wanting to see medicinal marijuana become more available, because his wife and other friends could benefit from pain-killing effects of marijuana.
Matt Boschka runs the Cannabis Depot in La Crosse, and he pointed out that La Crosse voters have already shown their approval for marijuana use by passing a referendum in November of 2018.
The amendment goes to the full city council next week.
