When Islam got off the highway at the Route 863 exit, the trooper terminated the pursuit, but continued to follow him from a safe distance, police said. Islam lost control not long after while making a left turn in the 3800 block of Blacksmith Road in Weisenberg Township, and he and a passenger were then taken into custody, police said.
