ORANGE CITY—A 35-year-old Orange City man was arrested about 6:15 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 22, on charges of possession of a controlled substance — marijuana — third or subsequent offense, possession of drug paraphernalia and interference with official acts.

The arrest of Isidro Maldonado stemmed from him a search warrant executed at his residence at 334 Delaware Ave. SW, according to the Orange City Police Department.

Authorities located marijuana in a prescription pill bottle and a grinder with marijuana residue in it in his medication box

Maldonado resisted an officer and deputy when they attempted to put handcuffs on him, according to the incident report.

The police department was assisted by the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, Iowa State Patrol, Community Emergency Response Team and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
