Three Erie men arrested following a traffic stop on city’s east side.

Erie police have charged a city man with vehicle theft and two other male passengers with drug possession after officers made a traffic stop on Thursday afternoon at East 10th Street and East Avenue.

Police pulled over a white 2010 Cadillac at about 12:15 p.m. after a license check indicated the vehicle was reported stolen in the past two weeks.

The driver, 20, was awaiting arraignment Thursday afternoon on charges of theft by unlawful taking, receiving stolen property, firearms not to be carried without a license, improper registration, and driving with a suspended license.

Police said the driver had a concealed handgun in his waistband.

Officers recovered a small amount of marijuana in the vehicle that belonged to the male passengers, ages 19 and 23, police reported.

Both men are facing drug charges.
