LOS ANGELES–()–Today, Generation Pride launches their month-long multimedia education and storytelling campaign, produced by leadership development nonprofit hub The Social Impact Center, celebrity florist, event producer and cannabis advocate, The Flower Daddy, and womxn and non-binary creative and activist group, Tree Femme Collective. Hosted on June 27th, the anniversary of the Stonewall Riots, The Summit will feature a full spectrum of influential speakers including the likes of Cleve Jones, Frenchie Davis, Bamby Salcedo, Elijah McKinnon, Laganja Estranja, and Cat Packer, educational programming, and unique performances highlighting the intersections of LGBTQIA+ and marginalized communities.

“Our liberation owes a huge debt of gratitude to the Civil Rights movement,” says Felicia Carbajal, Executive Director of The Social Impact Center. “That first brick thrown at Stonewall has rippled out to today and it’s up to the next generation to harness that power. There is still racism prevalent in the queer community and white queer folks need to come to terms with the fact that they play a role in the harm experienced by their Black and Brown siblings. Generation Pride is a call for all of us to love, heal and grow in our experience as a community.”

Leading up to The Summit, and taking up space for the entire month of June and always, Generation Pride will share the stories of the thought leaders, revolutionaries, and changemakers of the LGBTQIA+ community that have paved the way. Rooted in togetherness, Generation Pride will ask the community to join in the movement and tell their own stories to become the new enforcers of equal rights using #GenerationPride.

“Pride is not a month, Pride is not a season,” says Jamie Lee McCormick, founder of The Flower Daddy and co-founder of Generation Pride. “Generation Pride honors the beautiful and diverse complexity of being that makes the LGBTQIA+ community thrive in our brilliance. We come together to recognize the history and resilience of our community, celebrating diversity and inclusion among queer people and connecting the past, present and future.”

Generation Pride is open for all to attend and will focus on bringing together intersectional nonprofit communities around the nation to experience this storytelling first hand. Generation Pride will be streamed via Zoom and YouTube Live and #GenerationPride can be echoed on all social media platforms. Register for the Summit at generationpride.com.
