A teenager was hospitalized after getting shot during a drug deal gone wrong, San Antonio police said.
The complainant, 19-year-old Jorge Martinez, and witnesses originally told police that they were in their vehicle, near the North Star Mall, just before 10 p.m. Tuesday, when a random car came up and started shooting into their car for no reason.

The witness then drove Martinez home to the 1700 block of La Manda Boulevard, where they called the police. Martinez was taken to University Hospital with a non-life threatening gunshot wound to the back.
The witness later confessed to police that the teens were going to an apartment complex off of Blanco Road to try and buy some weed from an unknown person.
He said they had never bought weed from the man before, and the man had started shooting as they drove away.
The suspect wasn’t located by police.
