WARREN COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A man from Illinois is facing four preliminary charges after he was caught driving the wrong way in Warren County.

It happened Saturday night, just after 11. An Indiana State Police Trooper was in the middle of a traffic stop when he saw a car pass him going the wrong way. This was on U.S. 41 near County Road 850 North. The driver was going south in the northbound lanes.

The trooper caught the wrong way driver just after the interchange of U.S. 41 with State Road 63.

Jerry Odell, 26, from Danville Illinois was behind the wheel. Police say he was showing signs of impairment. He failed his field sobriety tests and was taken for a chemical test at St. Vincent Hospital in Williamsport. He was also driving without a license.

Police found marijuana and various marijuana edibles in his car. He was arrested and taken to the Warren County Jail.

He is facing preliminary charges of Operating while Intoxicated, Possession of Marijuana, Operating with a Controlled Substance in the Body and Operating Without Ever Obtaining a License.
