Two cannabis delivery drivers were robbed within minutes of one another in Clairemont Mesa Friday night, likely by the same gunman.

The first robbery occurred on Mount Harris Drive near Mount Foraker Avenue about 9:14 p.m., San Diego police said. The driver notified his customer that he had arrived, and he was met by an armed man. The robber pointed a gun at the driver and demanded undisclosed property from him.

About five minutes later, another robbery was reported nearby, on Mount Acadia Boulevard near Mount Blanca Drive. The driver notified the customer he was there and he was approached by a man of a similar description. The robber pointed a gun at the driver and demanded property.

The gunman then fired one shot into the car, hitting the driver’s cellphone. After stealing items, the robber ran through an apartment complex and escaped.

Police did not specify what items the robber stole. Cannabis delivery drivers typically don’t transport large amounts of product or cash.

The robber was similarly described in both instances as Black, 20 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall, 250 pounds, wearing a black or gray hooded sweatshirt and shorts. He was described as wearing a mask in the second incident.
