TOWN OF LLOYD – A 32-year-old Highland resident is in the Ulster County Jail after being found in possession of a large amount of Cannabis.

Lloyd police arrested Steven Lopez on the felony charge of criminal possession of Cannabis for having five pounds of marijuana in his possession.

Lloyd Police Chief James Janso told Mid-Hudson News that Lopez was already facing the misdemeanor charge of criminal contempt, requiring supervision of the Ulster County Department of Probation.  Probation officers were conducting a home visit at the residence of Lopez when they discovered the marijuana.  The probation officers contacted the Lloyd Police Department for assistance in arresting Lopez.

Lopez was arraigned in the Town of Lloyd Justice Court and remanded to the Ulster County Jail without bail.  He is next scheduled for a court appearance on March 22.
