The founder of SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk on Saturday, June 6, said he considered it wrong that the sale of marijuana in the United States was punishable by imprisonment. He wrote about this on his Twitter.

The owner of Tesla added that such a statement is likely to bring him trouble, but he feels that he has to say.

In the middle of April, The Washington Post reported that in some US states, during the COVID-19 pandemic, marijuana factories were allowed to continue home delivery. Such enterprises, for example, were opened in California, Colorado, Illinois, Michigan, and Vermont.

In some US states, marijuana is legalized. In 11 of them, its use for personal purposes is allowed, in 33 – for medical purposes, on the recommendation of a doctor. At the same time, in other states and other territories of the United States, the use of marijuana is prohibited by law and is punishable by a fine and imprisonment.
