PLYMOUTH – Plymouth’s second recreational marijuana store is open for business.

The Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony for Zen Leaf last Thursday.

Located at 10 Richards Road in the Plymouth Industrial Park, Zen Leaf opened for business Friday, Sept. 4, to much rejoicing among marijuana enthusiasts and those concerned about town revenue.

Plymouth Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Amy Naples led the presentation, encouraging Zen Leaf to dive into the community and learn about all it has to offer.

“We are here to support you,” Naples said.

Verano Holdings Operational Sales Vice President Anthony Dindia did the honors, introducing staff and asserting that Zen Leaf strives to be a member of the community.

“This is a first class facility. It’s a partnership with us,” Dindia said. “Thank you for allowing us to operate in your community. Four hundred years ago the Pilgrims arrived, and here we are now.”

Dindia introduced the company’s state director out of Maryland who operates five dispensaries, he said, as well as a director of national procurement and another staff member he said he worked with during the beginning of his career in the industry in Chicago. It highlighted the national reach of Verano, and its Zen Leaf marijuana stores and dispensaries.

Triple M is Plymouth’s first marijuana store, selling both medical and recreational products. It is located at 9 Collins Ave., also in the Plymouth Industrial Park.

Verano has opened a recreational marijuana store in Sharon, and has medical and recreational marijuana businesses in Florida, Puerto Rico, Michigan, Oklahoma, New Jersey, Ohio, Nevada, Maryland and Illinois. In addition to selling recreational marijuana, Verano is a licensed cannabis cultivator and processor, producing a wide range of products including edibles, extracts, flower, tinctures & topical, THC and CBD formulations.

The new recreational marijuana store is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. seven days a week.

According to Zen Leaf, customers can order online at zenleafdispensaries.com, and pick up product curbside. The company will text message customers to confirm the order and direct store pickup of product. For in-store shoppers, don’t forget to wear a mask. Customers are required to wear masks and must main social distancing while shopping in the store.

The company maintains that Zen Leaf’s Massachusetts dispensaries are practicing social distancing and says staff are equipped with personal protective equipment.

According to The Cannabis Control Commission, the adult-use cannabis industry raked in $394 million in sales from November of 2018 to November of 2019.
