OAKLAND — A 29-year-old man was shot after he was robbed of marijuana he was trying to sell in East Oakland Thursday afternoon, authorities said.
The man, who was wounded more than once, was in stable condition at a hospital.
The robbery and shooting happened about 2:40 p.m. Thursday near the intersection of 38th Avenue and Nevil Street.
Police were told the man was in a car with another person attempting to sell marijuana to a person outside the vehicle.
While that was going on a man approached the car and at gunpoint demanded the 29-year-old man’s marijuana. police were told.
The man threw the marijuana outside the vehicle toward the robber and started to drive away, police were told. How much marijuana was not known.
The robber shot at the moving vehicle wounding the man, authorities said. The other person in the vehicle was not hurt.
They were able to drive to a hospital where police were notified.
A detailed description of the shooter was not available.
